Mendez Pops Bottles Again, the Return of Discoton and More…..

Thanks to Jordyn and Ethen Norten Photography

The video in this post is an unofficial remix my man Mendez did to rock out the clubs he works at and I think we have another winner on our hands.   This is the second time I’ve personally announced that Mendez is poppin’ bottles but I believe it’s a weekly affair in Phoenix.   Dale!

Photo Romance!  I loved playing edits from this production outfit when I first started a moombahton collection and here comes something of a re-up if you know what I mean.   Sick edits and production technique combined with the sort of lyrics moombahton is known for (sorry if that offends you but it’s true)

Something else from the Romance…..

For a very long time I would post the 13th Tribe tracks regularly on this blog and I’ve kind of gotten away from that but no longer.   Marshall McLuhan, Terrence McKenna and even Khevin De Lheon are all names you should be aware of and who are not involved at all in moombahton.  Ok, I lied, Khevin is very involved in moombahton but he’s a smart guy and I thank him for this dope little track.

Here is an interesting take on a Congorock song from Decade!  Some really heavy vibez to be sure.

Discoton!  One of the first posts I did for Moomba+ when I came aboard was Teen Wolf and Shelco’s Estudio 54 podcast which was a very impressive departure from the bleeps that at the time I thought defined moombahton.  I was aware of moombahsoul but the drums were such that if heard on a loud system, could still have the heavy effect on me.   This was different and had the “dance most of the night but def go to the bar a whole bunch too and smile the whole time” kind of vibe that I like in a club.   No sweaty ravers but pure sweet disco love. LOL  This is one of the “lost tracks” from the EStudio Mixtape courtesy of the boys from Sin City.
