Why hasn’t this been done before? Well, truth be told, it has, in just about every genre imaginable. However, few producers are going to get at a track and re-invent in a tasteful, yet speaker rattling fashion like Kovary. And he really gets after Kool and the Gang’s “Jungle Boogie” leaving me slack jawed and crying out “Tune” as soon as I could catch my breath. Get down, get down.

TEAM BAYSIDE HIGH

This week in Madison, WI, Steve Aoki’s “Deadmeat Tour” came to town and I was able to stop in and witness the event that included EDM heavyweights Steve Aoki, Datsik and Mustard Pimp and that also featured local selectors alongside Chicago’s Team Bayside High. For those of you who don’t know, Team Bayside High (TBH) plays truly party style moombahton that caused the historic Orpheum Theatre’s speakers to shake and rattle like true moombahtonistas are known to do. I was pleased to see TBH get down live and witness them rinse out tunes like Market Price’s “Otis” remix and getting a big reaction early on in the night when the crowd was still trickling in. And yet, I saw plenty of young people urging their friends to come hear this crazy music….they meant moombahton.

The Orpheum is a great venue and I hope they host more major shows like this one. I had a chance to talk to TBH after the show and they have lots in store for the Midwest massive. Besides touring like mad men and holding down one of the hottest parties in the country, Rehab, in Chicago, these guys are releasing some major, major tunes. The boys told me their last track of their set which floored myself and local DJ Brianna Klien was still being mastered but that it would be dropping soon. I think a “danger” button would be appropriate for their upcoming release based on what I heard. Here is a sampling of the sounds that TBH brings to the table. LOve THem.

Ziad is bringing a huge tune roundup to the table today so I am not going to get crazy on track downloads but this one is one my dj’s and bestfriends have been waiting for, the moombahton edit of “212″. Bonus: you can hear Azealia Banks dirty ass mouth even clearer when you slow down the lyrics…..
